Why does the shortest month of the year seem to drag on forever? I am so ready for spring. I want to be in the garden. But for now I just have to dream of days ahead. I have all my seeds. The plans for the garden are being made. I did start some onion seeds this morning. We bought some wood for raised garden bed but it has been too cold and wet to do anything.
I did get some canning done this month. Yesterday I canned 1 quart and 3 pint of lentil sausage soup. Earlier in the month I put up 3 quarts and 6 pints of chicken and 2 quarts and 8 pints of chicken broth. I hope I can remember to keep a running tally this year of my canning.
Oh well, just a few more days and March will be here. Until then I will just dream of sunny skies, green grass and my garden

Welcome
My name is Barb and this blogging is new to me. Hopefully with some trial and error, I will learn how to do this.
Cackleshack got its name from an old woodworking shed we named the shack into a chicken coop. We have 19 spoiled rotten chickens, 1 dog and 1 cat. I have been debating for about a year now about getting goats. With the cold weather here lately I'm leaning against it but as soon as it warms up I am sure I will want them.
This is my journal so this old girl can keep track of things. The memory ain't what it used to be.
