It's a beautiful spring day in the neighborhood

Winter is like a relative that has overstayed their welcome. Although it is pretty, winter needs to move on.

First Day of Spring?

Today is the first day of spring. Hmm maybe we need to tell Mother Nature. Right now it is 27 and the high for today is suppose to be 35 degrees. I did look at the 10 day forecast and in 10 days it will climb all the way to 50. oh well, one of these days I will be complaining how hot it is.

We have babies!!

We stopped at Rural King last week to get some chicken feed and instantly my ears perked up. I hear peeping. So 7 little fuzzy butts found their way into a box.

4 Easter Eggers, 1 silver laced wyandot, 1 golden laced wyandot, and 1 black star.

Here they are today at the tender age of 2 weeks. Probably another week and they will move into the garage brooder.

We worked on the greenhouse this weekend. I got some seeds germinating in the basement. Need to build another raised bed IF it ever stops raining. I need to get my cool weather crops planted.
